Why did you have to die?

A man who had just left flowers on the parental grave and was on his way back to his car happened to notice another man, kneeling at a grave, who kept repeating, "Why did you have to die? Why did you have to die?"

The first man approached him: "Sir, I don't wish to interfere with your private grief, but this demonstration of pain is more than I have ever seen before. For whom do you mourn so deeply?"

The mourner took a moment to collect himself, then replied, "My wife's first husband."

Settling the case

"Why don't you settle the case out of court?" asked an Irish judge of the litigants before him.

"Sure, and that's what we were doin', my lord, when the police came and intervened."
