Can't take it with you?

There once was a very rich man who wanted desperately to take his wealth with him when he died. He prayed and prayed until finally God gave in, but on one condition: the man could only take one suitcase of his wealth. So the rich man worried about currencies, and diamonds, and bonds, and liquifiable assets. Finally he decided simply to turn everything into gold bullion.

The day came when he was summoned to the Pearly Gates. St. Peter told him that he would have to leave his suitcase behind, and the man explained that he had made a special arrangement with God. "Unusual," said St. Peter. "Mind if I take a look?"

The man opened his suitcase to reveal the layers upon layers of shining gold bullion.

"But why in heaven would you bring pavement?"
