Too much knowledge

The new supercomputer was said to have access to every fact in the world, so a skeptical man asked it, "Where is my father?"

The computer whirred for a few seconds, then printed out on the screen:

Your father is fishing in Michigan.

"Aha!" said the skeptical man triumphantly. "I knew this was nonsense. I will have you know that my father has been dead for twenty years."

No. Your mother's husband has been dead for twenty years. Your father just landed a three-pound trout.

Noble sacrifice

Ten men and a woman are clinging to a single rope suspended fom a helicopter -- but the rope is not nearly strong enough to hold all of them. One of them will have to let go: and of course no one can decide who.

Finally the woman gives a touching speech, saying how she would give up her life to save the others, because women were used to giving things up for their husbands and children.

All the men start clapping.
